Measuring Thermal Diffusivity

Advances in high performance computing and simulation software are rapidly increasing reliance on simulation-driven design of thermal processes or systems, often resulting in better, faster, and cheaper development. However, the accuracy of these simulations is limited by the accuracy of the thermal physical properties that inform them. This research project uses high-fidelity simulations to investigate the accuracy of current methods for measuring thermal diffusivity and how better methods can be developed.
