Temperature-dependent Tissue Properties

The thermal and acoustic properties of tissue can vary significantly with temperature. It is important to measure this variance for improving the accuracy of simulated focused ultrasound (FUS) treatments. Over the past few years, the Bioheat Transfer Lab has collected extensive data on how the properties of pork loin, a close stand in for human tissue, change with temperature. The goal of this project is to summarize the data with simple predictive equations for researchers to incorporate into future FUS computational models.
