Aldo Chipana

Undergraduate Research Assistant

My research has to do with Shape Memory Alloy (NiTinol) and how we can use its properties in Biomedical Research. The initial idea that we had was how we could use SOA in treating people that suffer from pectus excavatum (caved in chest cavity about the sternum). My love for Biomedical Engineering is rooted in helping make a difference in an individuals quality of life.

I grew up in Utah but I was born in Lima, Peru. My father studied engineering so I guess you could say it runs in the family. I grew up loving math and physics. The three pillars of my life outside of school and church are listening to music, working out and lifting weights at the gym, and playing video games.
